I prefer an element of anonymity online and thus adopted the name 'TheHonestAtheist.' There are several reasons for this adoption:

1. It provides a more meaningful, delightful, and informative label for the person and work which is mine. Rather than referring to "Joe Cool" and getting the response, "Who?"--"TheHonestAtheist" gives an immediate persona to who and what is being talked about.

2. At present, I desire to respect and protect the people close to me and would not like to know that I am an atheist or would wish to disregard association with me as an atheist.

3. I have also chosen the screen name to highlight my transparency in answers, even at the cost of "losing" a debate. I desire to be honest and truthful in my answers.
